Why is the map grey on location?
Why has the map colour changed from orange to grey?

the greyed out location is because the location is an old or outdated location and is not being refeshed anymore. this is because the person who shared the location with you either turned off their phone or manually stopped sharing their location with you. judging from the message feed, i assume the person has stopped sharing your location with you. So, you get the last location that he was at while he was still sharing the location with you.
