Help finding Temporary Items

I use Android file transfer to move photos from my camera to iPhoto. I highlight the photos in the android file transfer app and then drag them across to iPhoto. However when I do this,they automatically save as 'temporary items' somewhere. I can never find them, so I go through to process of dragging a second time, and the photos import to iPhoto.

I'd very much like to find this mysterious 'temporary items' folder, as it has become the never-never land of my computer. I have used the 'finder-go-alt-library-utilites/cache options', but no temporary items are to be found there.

Any advice? I have an OS X 10.9.5

I'd love to be able to clear out these temp items, unless of course my brilliant mac does it for me and I'm worrying for nothing.
