Trying to upgrade 2012 13in MacBook Pro! Help!

I recently pulled this laptop out of a recycling bin - it's in perfect shape, all the hardware seems to be completely fine. However, it's running OS X 10.7.5 Lion.

I'm fine running Lion, but I need to partition the laptop so it'll also run Windows 10. Boot Camp Assistant is way behind the curve - it's ready to get me installing Windows 7, haha. I'm ready to partition and all, but I'm stuck on the Windows drivers. My version of Boot Camp Assistant won't let me download any Windows drivers at all - says network failure, even though I'm on Ethernet. So, my hardware prevents me from upgrading to the current OS X, (plus it seems that Apple immediately discontinues all defunct OS X versions (?), which is really my only option w this hardware), so I can't access a current copy of Boot Camp Assistant.

So, basically, I need a way to get current Windows 10 drivers. As far as I can tell, the only way is through Boot Camp Assistant, which I can't get. Does anybody have any ideas? Am I missing something? Is this even possible?

Thank you so much!

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.7.5), 13in, 2.5GHz Intel Core i5

Hello hobbitgee,

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.

I see that you are looking for a way to get the necessary version of Boot Camp Assistant to be able to install the current version of Windows on your computer. If your computer is indeed a MacBook Pro 2012, you would be able to install the latest version of macOS, High Sierra and that would enable you to get the current version of Boot Camp. This support article will explain how to get macOS High Sierra:
