Cannot scp in or out of my mac

No error shows up on executing the command, however, the file(s) are not copied. It happens both ways - 1) if I try to copy a file from a linux system onto my mac 2) copy a file from my mac onto a linux system

I am facing same issue with sftp.

While looking for why sftp was failing with message "Received message too long", I found the solution:

bashrc - sftp gives an error: "Received message too long" and what is the reason? - Unix & Linux Stack Exchange

The error happened coz I had print messages in my bashrc, somehow if there are print messages in bashrc, scp and sftp fails while ssh works fine.
