USB 3 Adapter for MacBook Pro

I'm in the market for a new MacBook Pro. However I do have an external hard drive that is usb 3.0; it is mostly for file storage. So my does anyone know of an adapter they can recommend that is usb 3 to thunderbolt 2?

Both The Macbook Pro with touchbar and the Macbook Pro without touchbar currently offered by Apple have Thunderbolt 3 ports.

MacBook Pro without Touch Bar:

Two Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C) ports
with support for:

  • Charging
  • DisplayPort
  • Thunderbolt (up to 40 Gbps)
  • USB 3.1 Gen 2 (up to 10 Gbps)

Are you maybe looking at a different model somewhere else?

Ahh, I see.

Thunderbolt 2 to USB adapters don't really exist as such.

You can get Thunderbolt docks that have USB ports, but a Macbook Pro with thunderbolt 2 ports also has some USB 3.0 ports built in already. At least 2.

If you really really need to use the Thunderbolt ports for some reason:
