Export mailbox is really weird in apple mail. There is no feedback on what it is doing. I exported a large email account and nothing showed in the activity monitor. I had to keep clicking command-I on the file to watch as it grew larger. I assume it's finished now because it stopped 'growing'
You'd think they would have some kind of alert that says 'complete' or a progress bar.

I couldn't agree more. I usually find that if I try to quit the Mail app with the export is still in-progress, is the only time I am warned.

Thanks. I thought I might be doing something wrong. At least it warns you if you quit before it's done (that's what I was worried about) I will suggest this to the product feedback!
