When doing a search in google (on iPhone) and I find an address/map and click on it, my google maps app opens (my default) and "no results" displays. I'll add that my google map is trying to show directions not just open the selected address.
This issue does not happen on my PC or my ipad.
Any suggestions why this is occurring?
That's really odd.
Have you already tried to use Apple Maps?
Have you tried to delete Google Maps and then re-download/re-install it?

Very odd, I would expect just the map of what I was searching (eg: monument valley, utah) to be displayed, not the route from my current location.
As mentioned, no issue when using my iPad or PC, just iphone.
See screen shots below (first is search result in Google, second is result when I click on the map shown in google search. I would expect just a map of the location, eg: monument valley area, to be shown).
On your iphone what are you using to search addresses? Safari, Google? Something diferent?
Are your Settings>Privacy>Locations>GoogleMaps properly set?
Have you already tried a "forced" restart of your iPhone?
