Why do I have an unsecured network as well as a secured network?

When I reset my phone I had to sign in to Netflix and it had me set up a name for our WiFi I guess to be able to identify faster. Well now that “name” is also an unsecured network open for anyone to join. Our main network which is secured is also an option and the only one that actually allows me to connect all devices.
