Final cut studio not working after High Sierra update

As of High Sierra the long EOL and outdated Final Cut Studio, being only 32 bit app, won't run, nope. Almost a decade since the dinosaur was killed (for very good reason), no more updates. Why not learn FCPX and do more, faster, easier?

If you really want to use Motion and all of the other applications that come with Final Cut Studio 3 you can install Snow Leopard on your mac. I have a MacPro 2010 with a hard drive that has Snow Leopard and Final Cut Studio 3 and it works perfect. I also have a 2015 MacBook Pro i5 13" inch in which I installed High Sierra OS. I also have another MacBook Pro 2009 17" in which I installed Final Cut Studio 3 with a partition which has Snow Leopard. On the other partition I have Yosemite OS.

but it won't install in 10.13, claiming to require Pro Apps updater 7 first, but that is supposedly unsigned now and will not run.

I completely understand your desire to stick with a real version, so good luck stepping back, as I will once I sort out a suitable backup to recover from. As I mentioned earlier, evrything appears to run in 10.9.5 but motion is broken in 10.10.

Do more? Is that why production houses that can't use FCP studio anymore moved back to AVID? FCP X is still really iMovie Pro and while it has a lot of conveniences and speed, it's still not a replacement for a pro app like the original FCP, just like "Photos" is not even a replacement for iPhoto, let alone Aperture. Photos doesn't even do lossless edits like Aperture or more importantly, LightRoom, and it's the first of the crappy iOS ports to the Mac that still hasn't been upgraded to a proper UIkit app, which doesn't bode well for the hopeful optimism people seem to feel after WWDC.

Apple seems to have almost entirely abandoned actual pro users hardware and software with it's (understandable) focus on the phone, but I still can't understand why the Macs future has to be abandoned or "repurposed" while it's usage is still higher than it's ever been in spite of the relative neglect and contempt.

The last OS that FCP studio fully operated on was 10.9.5. All but Motion still function in Yosemite, but I can't remember what works after that. I have the same problem with FCP Studio as you after a failed migration to a new machine that shipped with Highest Sierra, an irritating version that makes my 2.8GHz 2015 15" MBP feel slow. Fortunately, an Apple genius informed me that they are still able to install 10.9.5 on it in store, which should make it fly in spite of the lack of security updates available for it. Maybe I'll sacrifice my late model 17" to the new versions now.
