iOS 11.4 Battery Drain Fix

I tried resetting my network, that did not work.

I have been able to better manage the problem by always turning on low power mode, even when I have 100% charge. This keeps the batteries from draining alarmingly quickly.

I've also noticed that the problem occurs more severely when the phone is in use (4-5 times the drain), than when it is idle (2 times the drain).

I am uploading an image, where I had the battery at full charge and used facebook for 2hrs 17min and dropped the battery to 34%. This is for an iPhone 6S with the battery at 86% life.

Why would I be embarrassed to answer your question, "Does Apple even test these updates".

If you knew the answer already, you should be embarrassed to have asked it in the first place.

I'm sure you'll feel the need to get in the last word, so take your best shot.

Switching from my 5 Ghz network to the 2.4 Ghz network seems to have worked for my iOS 11.4 battery drain issue, somehow even when I'm away from the networks. I went for a walk 2 days ago, listening to Music using bluetooth headphones, battery charged to 100%. When I finished the walk, battery was at 80%

Yesterday evening charged phone to 100%. Sometime over the next 12 hours to this morning battery drained down to 25% - no active use (calls/texts/mail/etc) involved.

Charged battery again to 100% this morning and network switched to 2.4 Ghz. Took the same walk, same conditions and battery at 98% once I got home. That was 3 hours ago and battery still at 98%.

Who knows why the network/battery drain issue exists, but this does seem to remedy the battery drain issue. Hope apple gets to the bottom of this soon.

Reset network. Battery went from 85% to 90% (wha???).

Since resetting ten minutes ago (now on mobile 4G), battery went down to 80%. Not sure I’d representative of fast battery drain in gernrbut it seems still fast to me.

Was it possible that before you did the network reset you were connected to a 5ghz network and afterwards you connected to a 2.4ghz one ?

I reset my Wifi and so far so good. Cautiously optimistic here! My iPhone 6s is holding steady. Thank You for the great tip!!!

I reset my Network settings 3 hours ago and my battery is not draining at all. Holding steady. Fingers crossed!!

Does Apple even test these updates my battery is draining ridiculously quick I noticed it immediately. I hope this fix works for me

Of course they do. Beta testers are often just everyday customers who agree to allow Apple to gather performance data from their devices while using the beta before its final release.

Please do not reset network settings it does nothing but reset your passwords, battery is still plummeting. I don’t think they tested this update very well, because this makes no sense.

Please don’t defend Apple in this case, you are embarrassing yourself. I know they have beta testers, but this is a clear FAIL on Apples part.

Resetting my network solved my problem instantly after trying every other suggested "fix". My battery life is great. No more drain at all.

This doesn’t work. Did it last night and went from 100% to 53% overnight sitting idle on my nightstand.

Sorry to hear that. I'm at 91% as I type this, still off this morning's charge.
