iOS 11.4 Battery Drain Fix

I wanted to post my issues and solution to the Battery Drain issues after upgrading to 11.4. Hopefully this will help some. I did the 11.4 upgrade on my devices including an iPhone 6s, X and iPad Air2. the Air and 6S experienced severe drains, going from full charge to almost zero overnight, sometimes complete drain. The iPhone X was fine.

After waiting, restarting and other troubleshooting, what finally alleviated the issue was resetting my network settings. Go to network settings under Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings. After this you will need to add your Wifi networks again. This should solve the drain issues.

I tried resetting my network, that did not work.

I have been able to better manage the problem by always turning on low power mode, even when I have 100% charge. This keeps the batteries from draining alarmingly quickly.

I've also noticed that the problem occurs more severely when the phone is in use (4-5 times the drain), than when it is idle (2 times the drain).

I am uploading an image, where I had the battery at full charge and used facebook for 2hrs 17min and dropped the battery to 34%. This is for an iPhone 6S with the battery at 86% life.

Switching from my 5 Ghz network to the 2.4 Ghz network seems to have worked for my iOS 11.4 battery drain issue, somehow even when I'm away from the networks. I went for a walk 2 days ago, listening to Music using bluetooth headphones, battery charged to 100%. When I finished the walk, battery was at 80%

Yesterday evening charged phone to 100%. Sometime over the next 12 hours to this morning battery drained down to 25% - no active use (calls/texts/mail/etc) involved.

Charged battery again to 100% this morning and network switched to 2.4 Ghz. Took the same walk, same conditions and battery at 98% once I got home. That was 3 hours ago and battery still at 98%.

Who knows why the network/battery drain issue exists, but this does seem to remedy the battery drain issue. Hope apple gets to the bottom of this soon.
