Command+C/V vs Control+C/V

Hi All.

I'm a bit confused about the usage of Command+C (or Commmand+C) and Control+C (or Control+C).

I use a lof the Copy & Paste functionality (copying for instance text from doc to notepad or from browser to text editor) but what happens very often is that in some programs I can copy/paste text using the Command+C and Command+V shortcut, in other programs I need to use Control+C and Control+V.

This is frustrating me while working: every times I need to check if I have copied or not a content.

Is there any way to avoid this behaviour and have just ONE combination to copy/paste?

Thanks

MacBook Pro with Retina display, macOS High Sierra (10.13.4)

As Terence said, the standard has always been Command-C, Command-V.

This was established since the very first mac, back in 1984.

Windows copied the keys, but pc keyboards never had a Command key, so they used Control instead.

The only cases I've seen where Control-C/Control-V work as Copy/Paste in the mac are Java applications that were not properly built for the mac. In that case, as a user, I've had to mentally adjust.

Like Terence suggested, you may contact the developers and politely request that they make them work the way a mac application is supposed to.

Thanks for the fast replies.

The problem happens in particular using Remote Desktop Manager app (but not only). While working into server and copy/paste, a lot of time I had to verify if command+c works: sometimes it require to use control+c.

I remember other mac applications.

I sure can interact with developers in order to add this comment/feedback even if it could requires long time of resolution.

In any case, my concern was if this behaviour is a bug from Apple side and in case how to solve it.

thanks all.

I can definitely says that the problem comes from "Remote Desktop Manager" tool.

As administrator I use it a lot, and often it happens that I need to switch from my programs (brackets, code...) to Remote Desktop server, copy and paste again to Mac.

So jumping faster from a side to another side it was unclear that everything happens inside the "Remote Deskopt Manager" app needs to run COTROL+C to copy, while switching to MAC need to do COMMAND-V to paste.

I had no time to investigate further in order to understand if I can change the behaviour of the app.

Thanks all for the answers!

Cheers
