Look for an affordable OCR PDF Converter

Hello everyone!

I’m looking for a workable yet affordable PDF Converter that can convert my scanned PDF and images into editable word document, I learned that to convert the scanned PDF and images should use OCR technology.

After some search in google, I found these two PDF tool seems can perform scanned PDF to editable document, and the price are affordable to me:

Prizmo (also $49.99): https://creaceed.com/prizmo

I read some reviews about them, seems Prizmo doesn’t work well on images, and Cisdem can perform PDF and images perfectly conversion, but some files format may be not same as original exactly, still have to do some edit(if not so much, I think it’s acceptable).

My question is, any one may have used these two apps, or do you have any other apps recommendation? Thank you very much.

Both are available on Mac App Store: Cisdem, Prizmo, so it’s safe to get, right?

iMac, macOS Sierra (10.12.4)

I think that you should visit these Mac App Store vendors' websites and see if they have trial software you can test before you buy. That way, if the converted PDF to Word document output will require weeks of editing and reformatting work, then you can walk away more the wiser.

If these are already scanned PDFs, they may not have been scanned at a high enough resolution for OCR to be viable.

I agree with VikingOSX, you need to see if you can find some trial software to see what results you get.

Many scanners also have bundled software that would do the OCR when you scan, so you may have some text already, depending on what you used.

Formatting will be the difficult part.

I have used this app for years—and one of the best investments I have made in software. (no affiliation other than a satisfied customer.)

As stated above it is not always the perfect science depending on the original PDF.

Yes, I did downloaded the trial versions, and test the programs, Cisdem converted almost files with formats preserved, but some didn't, and same as prizmo. So seems this depends on different original PDFs, and found a discount promotion of Cisdem PDF Converter OCR on Stacksocial, I am ready to invest it.
