Mac Pro won’t accept password even when reset

My MacBook Pro will not go past the sign in screen & says the password is incorrect. Have tried resetting the password & all the things mentioned on the internet as ways to get it working. All it tells me to do is reset the password which does not then work. Then it still does not start - have tried many times
