Spring-loaded folders not working

Trying to drag a file over a folder usually opens the folder so I can see exactly where I want to drop the file, but since the latest update I cannot do so. Going into the accessibility settings and turning spring-loaded delay does not change anything. I have updated my Mac to the most recent software version and have tried to relaunch Finder.

MacBook Pro, Operating system: 10.13.3

Opening folders while dragging and dropping Hi! In the past, when I wanted to move a file to a different folder in Finder, I was able to drag the file on the folder until it got highlighted and then when I waited a moment the folder opened. It doesn't work anymore and I don't know if it's because the new update changed this feature or I cannot open it in the settings. I use MacBook Air 2015 with Monterey 12.6.1. My bf has just bought the newest MacBook Air and I checked, the folders do open when I drag files onto them. I'll be grateful for your help!

Finder Drag to Tab Issue I think since I updated to Mojave I have trouble drag & dropping files from one finder tab to an other. When I try it I get a stop-sign-icon below the mouse. Only happens if the folder I want to copy it to is on a connected disk (in this case a Mac Mini) with folders in the same computer it still works. Dragging it on the same directory works if I open it in a separate window instead of dropping it on the tabs-bar. Below a screenshot of the issue (mouse was not visible on screenshot so I drew it about the way it was) Any idea why this is?

Spring-loaded folders not working with Option key down I often work with spring-loaded folders - that is the feature where you drag something over a folder in the Finder, and that folder pops open, allowing you drop, or navigate further down. This is immensely useful, particularly in Column View, as I have to frequently copy a file in situation like this: Folder A Subfolder A1 File X Folder B Subfolder B1 <--------- want to copy File X here Now it all works nicely if I move the file; as I drag over Folder B, it pops open, revealing Subfolder B1 and I can drop the file. To instead copy the file, of course, I would hold down the Option key. The problem is that the normal spring-loaded functionality is not working. I do have a workaround, that is to do the dragging without pressing Option, and then after navigating, pressing the Option key before releasing. But of course I keep forgetting it, and then having to release and press the Option key again. Mildly annoying, especially because it used to work for decades, and appeared to stop working maybe in Monterey. Do you see the same thing?

Welcome to Apple Support Communities.

It's my understanding that you're unable to use Spring- loading delay since updating. Are you able to use this feature with any other file and folder or is it just the one specifically? I do have some suggestions to help narrow this down. Try turning off Spring-Loading delay, restart the MacBook Pro and then turn it back on.
