Middle-Click on High Sierra?

How do you make a middle-click on High Sierra (macOS 10.13.5) now that MagicPrefs and MiddleClick are not supported by the developers and the API's are unsupported by Apple? When can I expect for macOS to incorporate this into the trackpad/ mouse settings?

I tried a third party mouse on the iMac that has a middle scroll wheel that's clickable that works perfectly fine on my old 2012 Macbook Pro, I plugged that into the new iMac Pro, and the middle wheel scrolls but doesn't click. Desperately need middle click—iMac/Sierra 10.12.6 What is the trick to assigning a middle click function to a mouse on my 5K, 27-inch, Late 2014 iMac? There are no alternatives for the program I'm using. I flat-out need to be able to execute a middle click with my mouse. No key combo seems to work. I've added the function on my Kensington trackball, but that is a no-go. Also doesn't work with my bluetooth Apple Magic mouse or the regular corded A1152 mouse.I know that nothing is impossible with a Mac, so what's the secret? Is there a terminal command? how do I enable a hotkey sequence from the right click menu on a Mac ? I would like to launch an application (Collibra desktop) via a "Collibra" link in the right click menu. I can currently highlight text and hit "Control K" but would rather have it as a right click option for folks that do not use it that often and likely will not remember the hot key sequence ... Thanks ! ~ Fred

Probably never. They have never supported it for the MM2. You will find support for it in combination with button mice in SteerMouse.

For MM2 there is middle-button support in Better Touch Tool.

i am on 10.13.6 . middle click works and used daily in chrome to open links in a new tab

How did you do a middle click? This is specifically on a builtin trackpad on a macbook pro.
