Problems creating a slideshow

I'm using High Sierra 10.13.5. I am becoming more disillusioned when using either iMovie or trying to create a slideshow. I have produced multiples of these on previous apple systems but it is now much more difficult. For example, I am trying to create a simple slideshow from an album in excess of 100 photos. But I cannot get it to start where I want it to or put any of my p[ics in the order that I want without re-arranging the very very tiny row of pics at the bottom. A laborious and crazy way to have to do it. Why do Apple seem to think that they know better and make things so much more difficult. Or am I missing something. I am a long term user (in excess of 20 years) using Apple iMacs. Can anyone e help me please.

By ctrl clicking the Album I managed to preserve the original sort. Why couldn't Apple make this clear somewhere.

That is why we like to post user tips, if we find undocumented features, You can help as well, by sending feedback to Apple. Many pages in the Photos Help have a feedback link, where we can explain what is missing in the Help.

For example, this Help page "Create and work with slideshows in Photos on Mac - Apple Support" has two buttons "Yes" and "No" at the bottom, where you can say, if the page has been helpful.

If you click "No", you can explain, what is missing. If enough users use these inks, the help will get better.
