How can I download Photoshop elements 2018 onto my MacBook Air?

I just ordered the downloadable version of photoshop elements 2018 for Mac on Amazon. The photoshop icon is on my home screen. When I try to launch the program I get an error message saying “We’ve encountered the following issues. Installation on case-sensitive volumes is not supported. Please choose a different volume for installation.” The only button on this pop up is “Quit” to close the pop up screen. There is no option to select another volume for installation. I have been up all night and spent hours trying to watch videos on YouTube on how to fix this problem and nothing seems to work. I’m getting very frustrated. I also backed up my Mac and wiped the computer clean, that’s what someone suggested to do online and still nothing. Please help!

Hello Briana,

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities! I understand that you are encountering an error when attempting to install Photoshop Elements on your Mac. I would be happy to point you towards a resolution.

Check out the following resource for more information about what this error means:

Adobe error "Case-sensitive drives not supported" or similar install error | Mac OS

It sounds like you will most likely need to reformat your hard drive. Here's how to tell which format you're currently using:

You may also want to consider creating a partition and formatting it as Mac OS Extended (Journaled) following the steps here:

Take care!
