Edit default templates in Pages 7.1 ?

Is there any way to edit one of the default templates that come from Pages 7.1? I'm very familiar with creating my own templates, but I'm wanting to actually edit (slightly) a couple of the ones that come installed with Pages.

How do I edit a template in Pages How do I edit a template in Pages. From all I have been able to find it is "impossible" to "EDIT" a template in Pages. I am reverting to creating my own "Template folder" where I can do anything I want with the templates I create. Too bad Apple is slipping so bad. How do I delete or rename a saved template in Pages v4.3 I'm still using Pages 4.3 which came with my computer. I realize it's ancient, but I like it. Tried v8.1 when it came out but found it clumsy for what I was doing at the time. Can't see how to delete or rename templates - hoping maybe someone remembers?

No.

Open a new document using the Pages template that you want to modify. Do so to your requirements, and then save it as one of your custom templates.
