Download this program which was written by Thomas Reed, a long time poster. The program will do the work for you which makes it easy. There is no reason to leave it installed once troubleshooting is finished. The free version doesn't update itself. If you need it again, you can download it again.

Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for Mac 10.10 and later

Malwarebytes uninstall

Second Step:

Open Safari Preferences

Click on Extensions

Remove the one, it was the only one on my system, that says "Helper"

Prior to this step, another website advised to

Open Finder, Select Go to Folder

Copy/Paste ~/Library/LaunchAgents

Enter

Delete the anysearchmanager line.

It worked, what I briefly saw was that this "Helper" can steal vital personal information. I've not seen anything weird yet with the computer behavior, except I made a comment out loud to my son about Chris Pratt, and the very next email with suggested conversations on Twitter led with Chris Pratt, whom I've never used in any way. But that is not new, must have enabled microphone in order to use my phone. Missed that potential problem in the onslaught of Privacy Updates.
