Windows games on boot camp

I have a 2017 MacBook Pro. It is the most powerful one they sell with the 3.1GHz quad core and the Radeon pro 560. I run boot camp on it no problem as I did with my older 2013 MacBook Pro. I like to game a little on windows and I’ve always been able to do it no problem. I have been impressed with the performance, especially in light of what so many people say About Mac not being capable of gaming. Recently however very frequently while playing a game the computer will completely freeze making a loud noise and the only way I can do anything is by powering it off with the power button. don’t have a graphics card that PCs do and certain games won’t be able to run on a Mac. But the problem with that is it’s crashing and freezing on games that my 2013 MacBook Pro was running without a hitch. I find it hard to believe that a more powerful modern machine is less capable than one more than four years older than it and significantly less expensive. Does anyone have any suggestions or advice about what this might be and how to solve it? thank you sorry for the length of this.
