Applecare compatibility with "Certified Refurb" via Amazon?

Find out from Amazon. Is this an Apple certified refurbished model and if so which model is it? If it is from Apple then it will come with the standard one-year warranty and will be eligible for AppleCare. If it was refurbed by Amazon then only Amazon offer a warranty. Furthermore, Apple shops would not service machines bought from Apple resellers.

Applecare is only available for new computers or if they were refurbished by Apple. And, if new, see the reqirements here:

Amazon does not always try to make it perfectly clear whether you are buying direct from Amazon, or you are buying from a reseller who sells on Amazon.

Apple certified refurbished are pristine, passed factory acceptance testing for cosmetics AND function, and are eligible for full warranty service direct from Apple.

Joe's Garage Shop certified refurbished are in whatever condition Joe decides, and are eligible for none of that -- you return them to Joe and he will try to fix them.

If this amazon/seller can offer APPLE certified refurbished, they should be shouting from the rooftops that these are eligible for APPLE warranty and AppleCare PLUS extensions to three years (at extra cost).

If they are not beating you over the head with that information, be sure you ask for written details of what warranty coverage they are talking about, and how you get service.
