my iPhone has automatically transferred all of my safari search history onto a new laptop without me connecting the phone or asking my permission. How do i stop this from happening
On your phone, go to Settings/iCloud/Safari and toggle the switch to "Off"
Are you using other browsers on your phone besides Safari? If yes, check the settings for these app, in case they transfer the history to your browser on the PC.
So now that i've turned that off will it delete the search history that was on my iphone from the laptop? It's not my laptop and i'm furious that its done it purely from me connecting to the same wifi as the laptop was using as its not an mac nor does it have access to safari or icloud
The phone will not delete the browser history, you'll have to do that manually on the computer.
Usually connecting the phone to a nearby Wi-Fi will not transfer any data to other devices that are using the same Wi-Fi network.
Has the phone ever been synced to this computer, using iTunes?
no nothing at all, the laptop came yesterday, connected straight up to the same home wifi that my phone was connected too, didn't plug my phone into it, nor connect the laptop to my hotspot or anything but yet all of my history is on the laptops browsing history.. itunes hasnt even been activated on the laptop but even still the person who owns the laptop doesnt have my icloud/itunes accounts or passwords to log into anyway..

I also assume that your iPhone software has not been modified (Jailbroken).

no the only internet i use on my phone is safari... and no never been jailbroken and i really dont know.. i'm now just asking the question of how many other devices has my phone synced all my history to from connecting to the wifi as thats all i can put it down too...
There are 3rd. party programs for the computer, that allow you to access the data on the phone by not using iTunes, but you'll have to connect the phone to the computer at some point, to transfer the data.
What happens, if you delete the browsing history on both devices, then use Safari for a while to create new history data, and then connect the phone and computer again to Wi-Fi, like you did the first time.
Then check if the data has been transferred again.
Did you check the settings for Safari in iCloud? If Safari is switched on in Settings/iCloud, your search history will be seen on all devices, that are using the same Apple ID and Safari.
it's not an apple mac.. so its internet explorer or chrome.. how do i turn off my safari for icloud
