Grammer- you're vs your

In Mail and Pages the grammar is always incorrectly corrected. If I write "I hope you're well" then Mail or Pages suggests correcting it to "I hope your well". I can't remember when the issue started, but how do I teach the Mac to stop correcting this, please?

I tried the “I hope you're well” expression in Linguisoft's Online Grammarian Pro2 grammar checker, and it flagged the last two words as an “incorrect predicate” usage. Even when changed to “you are.” It suggests replacing “well” with “good.” Sure enough, a recheck showed no grammatical error when using the word “good,” but this grates on the senses like saying, “You done good.” 😉

I do not know how to make Pages 7.1 understand that “you're” is a contraction for “you are”, and is correct in your usage. Unless we have been incorrectly using that expression all this time. 😁

No. That is incorrect.

Wellness is a state of being, you do not “do” it.

Apple’s “grammar checker” does show us how far bad education now dictates to everyone else. Those who know better and do not rely on wild guesses are wasting enormous time and effort simply not trying to disappear down the same black hole as everyone else.

This is what comes from letting someone else do your thinking for you.

PS it took me twice as long as it should have to write this post due to the ludicrous “corrections” by Apple’s software.

din I jus! 😜

The point that both Viking And I are making is that we are not here to make agreeable errors.

The grammar checker is pointless. It interferes with correct usage and demands we give up and submit to its random errors.

We have entered the new age of cluelessness. The New Age of Artificial Stupidity.

We have Apple Maps helping people who don’t know where anything is get further lost with error riddled maps.

Everything we write is twisted and screwed up till it makes no sense.

Colors in Apple’s software are “corrected“ so you can’t pin anything down.

The very software that Apple pushes on its Systems is ”fixed” to not open its own files, not work on most computers including many of Apple‘s and toss out useful features till we are all at the nadir of expectations.
