svg support in Keynote / Pages ?

I think it is time once again to ask Apple to please support svg import into Keynote and Pages. This has been on the radar here for over 10 years. Microsoft Powerpoint (gasp!) now has full import support for svg graphics. The web is now steeped in svg graphics - why not fully support such a commonly used format? For those wondering a work around (which shouldn't be necessary) - you have to pull the svg into another program and export/save it as an Illustrator file (.ai) or a pdf. It's 2018... time to give svg some love, Apple.
