Auto correct stopped working in mac

Hello everyone! I'm using a 13 inch MacBook Pro 2017 the 512GB SSD version with an i5 processor. After the latest macOS update (version 10.13.5) the auto correct function stopped working for both languages I'm using on the Mac (Greek and English). I followed the guide posted in a previous thread (the one advising to turn on the auto correction setting through System Preferences) but the box was already checked. Could you help me?

Apple has never provided autocorrect for Greek.

For english, make sure it is turned on in the app via edit/spelling and grammar.

First of all I would like to thank you for your answer. Now, about auto-correct in Greek, even though it is not officially provided by Apple, the service is actually provided by iSquare, Apple's Authorised Distributor in Greece, and that service has stopped working alongside the English auto-correct service, which is provided by Apple. Now I have tried solving the problem through preferences with no luck. Would you mind providing a bit more specific instructions to help me understand if I am doing something wrong? Again, thank you very much for your time.

For problems with the isquare-provided Greek service, you should contact them.

3rd party spell checkers may not work with the "automatic" setting, so you could need to have that preference show the exact language.

For all spellcheckers you may need to check the Edit menu for each app, to make sure it is set to the right dictionary and that autocorrection is checked. For example in TextEdit:

(Note that MS Word has its own spellcheck stuff and does not use any Apple services for this)
