iPhone 8 - Just bought it and finished setting up.
Everything installed Ok and all apps, except the Apple Store app, updated Ok.
Battery fully charged and also tried when plugged into the mains, tried signing out of my apple account on the phone then back in but this makes no difference.
Software version 11.4
Any suggestions as to how to cure please?

Two questions - if I uninstall the store how do I reinstall it? Normally to uninstall you press on it and the app starts to "shake". This isn't happening - if I press on the app I just get a context menu

You statement is not true. Nothing works on fixing the issue. Apple is aware of it and was aware of it 2 weeks prior of IOS 12 coming out and Apple has yet to say anything about it.

Offloading the Apple Store app was the only thing that worked for me as well on my iPhone X running IOS 12.1.
As Ponpon@Home stated, open apple store app (I used Siri) , it will pop up with update available, let it update and problem solved. Worked for us anyway...
This Worked! Basically opened the Apple store App and the process of updating started automatically! I was already logged into the Apple Store app I just had to launch the app.

Doesn’t work for me.....tried everything....
Following the directions to type "Apple Store" in the search bar worked immediately for me. It updated both the Apple Store and the "Clips" app that previously wouldn't update. Thank you! Chris

I had the same issue on my new ipad. I solved it by going to Settings, General, Apple store. Then Offload app. Once done,
It will ask you to go to App Store and reinstall it. That’s it!
