Charging with a 3rd party 85w charger

I bought a 3rd party 85w charger for my MBP Mid-2014 but when I charge with this one in the "Power" section of "System Report" it shows 45w charger connected, I have no idea if the previous original charger also showed the same since I never checked it. Also none of my friends or relatives own MBP 15 inch so I can't verify with them.

Can anyone help me with it?

Thanks

There is a complicated protocol where the device and charger negotiate the charge level by sending messages over the data pathway, before it ever accepts a charge. If it says it is charging at 45Watts, that is what the devices agreed on. It is never an accident. Both the device and charger must be smart enough to negotiate.

I don't think that charger is such a good match for your MacBook Pro.
