iMessage Badge Icon NOT Showing Red Notifications On iPad

Get your device ready

1. Check that you have the latest version of iTunes on your Mac or PC. If you can't access a computer and your device still works, you can erase and restore your device without a computer.
2. If you want to save the information on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod, make a backup.
3. Go to Settings > [your name] > iCloud, then turn off Find My iPhone. For an unresponsive device or one that won't turn on, learn what to do. If you forgot your passcode, get help.

Change alert styles and settings for notifications

Customize your notifications with different alert styles so you can quickly act on emails, calendar invites, messages, and more.

To add or change an alert style for a notification, go to Settings > Notifications and select an app. Here are some alert styles that you can choose:

• Allow Notifications: Turn on to get notifications from the app you selected.
• Sounds: Have an app play a sound to alert you when you receive a notification.
• Show on Lock Screen: Turn on to see notifications from the app on your Lock screen.
• Show in History: See previous notifications from the app you select.
• Banners: Choose how you want notifications to appear when your device is unlocked. Tap Temporary to have alerts appear on the screen and then go away. Or tap Persistent to have alerts stay on the screen until you act on it.
• Show Previews: Choose what you want to see when you get a notification, like a text message.

You can then reset all settings from Settings > General > Reset.

This “bug” has been going on for so long and this proposed “fix” isn’t working. Why can’t Apple figure out the issue and get it fixed? It’s not like they don’t have enough people complaining about it.

I’m having the same issue with Imessage since last update. My badge and banners for iMessage are on its also set for messages to be shown on lock screek but it’s not working. I get my messages but I don’t know it unless I keep going to imessage and checking all day. Big inconvenience please fix!

Having same issue here (Message count icon not appearing in the Messages green icon) with iPad(2) Mini. Smells like a bug?

The same issue is happening to me since iOS 12 update.

I’m having the same issue, but with the phone app. No badges for missed calls.

None of this works please find the problem and fix it instead of posting this answer continuely!
