Apple iTunes playlists under For You don't open

Hi,

I am unable to open any playlist under Recommendations. Since yesterday I find that clicking on any playlist like Favourites Mix or Chill Mix etc under the For You > Recommendations menu option fails to open the playlist window. Can anyone help, please?

Further info:

- I have done a system repair/verify process just incase there was something related to permissions

- I have signed out and signed back in to iTunes

- I have not added any new application either in the last several months

- iTunes version is 12.7.5.9

- Playlists under other tabs like Browse also do not open

iMac (21.5-inch, Late 2013), OS X Yosemite (10.10.5)

OK, from Mexico reporting that Apple Music it's working again on my iMac, every tab and playlist. No, I don't know why, or how.

I emailed Apple Support yesterday, they replied I should email to another sector of support, I didn't do it. Suddenly, today my Apple Music is working fine again.

As a side note, I was billed yesterday :/

So if this was a glitch, I suggest stop trying to fix it from your side, and wait a few days.

Of course Apple will address this bug anytime now... /s

Best of luck! And patience! 😝

Hi,

Spent more than a hour with Apple support this morning trying to sort this issue. Did all the usual checks from restarts, through login/logout to reloading the operating system – El Capitan. Expweriencing the same issue on my MacBook Pro and 5K iMac – both running El Capitan as I use some legacy software. Last exercise was to update to the MacBook Pro to High Sierra which fixed the problem on that machine, but may cause issues with the legacy software. Problem continues on the iMac which has to stay on El Capitan.

My experience suggests this might be a newly minted conflict with older operating systems. My iOS devices are all on recent updates and work fine .

I didn't try a clean install of El Capitan – did a reinstall where a new copy goes over the existing copy. Didn't help.

A clean install on the iMac for me will require too much down time and effort without any guarantee.

If a clean install is relatively easy for you it might be worth a try as I don't know if it was the act of updating that sorted the issue on the lap top, or it was the change to High Sierra?

Has anyone with this issue tried a clean install of El Capitan?

No. I had the same issue on an iMac running High Sierra in Mexico (¡hola!). I tried all described solutions, nothing worked, but it solved by itself after a few days. Someone has commented it could be related to servers, who knows! I suggest using the right-click workaround in the meantime to get to your playlists tracks and play from there. It should be fixed sooner or later.

It's frustrating that no one knows exactly what is going on :/
