get album artwork not working

I bought a few recent classical cds, and ripped them into itunes. itunes could only get the album artwork on one (so it worked a little), despite the fact that all the albums are offered in the itunes store, with appropriate artwork. What to do?

The link sent by Greg includes as an option: Retrieve album artwork from the iTunes Store for your entire library: Choose File > Library > Get Album Artwork

My issue is that that does not work. Why not? How to fix?

just google the album.. right click on the image and save to desktop.. then drag it into itunes..

i was not able to match everything, depends on your library... in some cases i just got a band photo and moved on with life.

years ago i used an MP3 editor ( like this https://www.mp3tag.de/en/ ).. seemed to be more work than it was worth.. but that may also help with album matching..just make sure it has album art matching

the meta data would need to match, or be close to what is already in itunes.. while the identical song, album may be in itunes, if it is not detected as the same..itunes will not match it

  • Add artwork to one item: Select an item in your iTunes library, choose Edit > [Item] Info, click Artwork, then do one of the following:
    • Click Add Artwork, select an image file, then click Open.
    • Drag the image file to the artwork area.
  • Add the same artwork to multiple items: Select the items, choose Edit > [Item] Info, click Artwork, then drag an image file to the artwork area.

As a fellow CD importer, I can attest to Greg B32's advice. I have found the "Get Artwork" feature to be haphazard at best unless the song/album is purchased directly through the iTunes Store. It may be that the metadata on the CD does not match EXACTLY what is in the iTunes Store. Who knows? Follow Greg B32's advise on importing the artwork, if you really want it. I found that is almost always what I need to do.

Thanks but my issue is a little more complex. Sometimes when I rip a cd to my hard drive the artwork shows up and sometimes it doesn't after I rip the cd. The artwork never shows up on the page listing the songs on the cd. (I insert a cd and a rip page appears showing the name of the cd and the name of the artist and a list of the songs. Here you check the boxes of the songs you want to rip.) The album artwork never shows up on this page even though there is a box for it. After the songs are ripped, artwork shows up on some and not on others. When it doesn't I do all the things everybody suggested to import the art work. I even go on to Amazon.com and bring up the specific cd and copy and paste the cover. Then I build a playlist and all the album artwork is there. I rip the cd and when I play it in my car in a Kenwood cd player the art work does not show up. 1 out of 50 songs will show the artwork. Every time I purchase a song from the Apple Store, then convert it to MP3 format, burn it, that artwork always shows up in my car. So my question is, how do I get the artwork to show up in my car on all the songs I burn? And how do I change the rip page to show artwork ?

Thanks,

Barry
