Iphon8 plus cannot connect to hotel wifi

I have seen answers to these questions onlin and in the forums but they don’t work. I know what is supposed to happen - I am supposed to be taken to a login screen but am not. All internet stops. I have called my cellphone provider T-Moble - kind but no help. I have called the hotel tech support - kind but no help. I have talked to other Apple users. It’s always user error. It couldn’t possibly be that the holy Apple has a fault.
