I have turned auto brightness off on my I Phone 7 plus, however, it continues to dim on its own. How can I resolve this ?
iPhone 7 Plus, it is updated to the latest version. I have turned off auto brightness, it still dims by itself.

Hello Angelyn,
This could either be a software or a hardware issue. When the screen dims does the brightness go down in the control centre?
Please put the brightness on 100% and when the screen dims check the brightness level in the control centre. Reply with what happened.
I’m having the same problem. I thought it was my iPhone 6 Plus and upgraded to the god aweful iPhone 8 Plus. I’ve had my iPhone 6 Plus since the day it was released. Last week and I tried to restored my iPhone 6 Plus thru iTunes on my iMac and the problem was still there. So I took my phone to sprint and upgraded after store employee said that it was my phone is causing the problems. After getting the upgraded iPhone 8 Plus it starts all over again. This time the phone is overheating to the point I can’t touch it and I have the lifeproof case on it also, I don’t think that’s causing it because my iPhone 6 Plus also had a LifeProof case on it, same make and color. I took the case off the phone and you can’t touch it because it’s too hot. The overheating part I think is because I’m using my phone while it’s charging at the same time.
I took my phone back to sprint and they told me it was my phone again. How can that be? I went from a 6 plus to the 8 plus and it’s still happening. The guy tried to get me to switch to the iPhone X and I told him I want my iPhone 6 Plus back and he said they don’t have any in stock and it would take 2 weeks to get another one in and the phone I gave them is already gone (I should have paid the remaining balance of $60 to keep my iPhone 6 Plus). I just don’t understand how can this be happening on 2 different devices? It has to be the iOS.
I never had this happen when I was using iOS 10, but after updating to iOS 11, that’s when I noticed the screen dimming to the point you can’t read anything. I haven’t done any updates after iOS 11.0 and that’s due to me being such a hardheaded *******.
Auto brightness is turned off, control center shows brightness to its fullest. I even went into accessibility tab in the general settings and turned auto brightness off. So far it only happens when I’m using garageband, iMovie, safari or YouTube on the iPhone 8 Plus. Before on my iPhone 6 plus I wasn’t using GarageBand but I did use iMovie only a couple of times and of course safari and YouTube, but the dimming was happening with any app I was using. I even went and uninstalled all apps to see if that’s the problem and it’s still happening. I did have problems with other apps causing problems such as crashing or freezing with my iPad 6th gen and iPhone 6 Plus but they are not on my iPhone 8 Plus at this time.
Then it sounds like you need to go to the Apple Store and have them check out your phone.
Good luck!
No, I keep the brightness level at full brightness. The level does not move when it dims (I have checked it 50 times). It dims to the point I can barely see the game I am playing.
How do the guy from Sprint know it is the phone? Wireless carriers not suppose to mess with iPhones, suppose to go back to Apple for warranty issues.
Oh my god!! The same thing is happening to me with my 6s plus.. the screen dims while streaming online movie on chrome app .. it dims every 30 secs or more so annoying
Mine is doing the same thing when I turn it on
