iPhone X stuck on "Checking for Updates"

I'm having trouble checking for updates on my iPhone X. I'm currently running iOS 11.2.6 and trying to update. I have 30GB available space and connected to wifi. I've tried everything in this troubleshooting guide and still no luck. I've left my phone on overnight with it checking for update and wake up and find it still on the same screen, no error or anything. I've had this issue with previous iPhones and have never been able to figure it out. Updating with iTunes works fine, but I don't connect to my mac that often and would like to do the mobile updates. Any help is appreciated.
