Kernel panics with 10.13.6 update...

Since upgrading my 12-core Mac Pro to 10.13.6 a couple of days ago, my computer has become highly unstable, kernel panicking about every hour. No particular app when it happens.

Further, the kernel panic message comes up, you press a button, and the machine basically becomes unresponsive requiring a hard power cycle. It then takes two or three times of that to actually get the machine to boot again and then it's okay for a while.

Really frustrated with this right now. To the point of moving away from Apple products altogether. I have been an Apple junkie since 1985, but times have changed, the company has changed, and I have lost the confidence I once had in their products. Support has gotten watered down and the community has no real power or knowledge about how to fix problems like this. Most problems have been relegated to "re-install your system" instead of fixing something specific.

Mac Pro (Late 2013), macOS High Sierra (10.13.6)

An update: I didn't want to start down the path of troubleshooting a kernel panic without first correcting the underlying hard drive error (error: inode_val: object (oid 0x3): invalid nchildren (-2)). There did not seem to be any way of correcting this without a complete hard drive re-format.

So for the last 3 days, I went down the rabbit hole of formatting the 1TB SSD and restoring it from Time Machine. (34 hours of copying and crunching). Computer came up this morning and let me log in with no problems. Nothing seems to be out of place, HD error is gone, and so are the kernel panics.

Problem solved. I guess.

Some further information....I have booted into recovery mode, re-installed OSX, and the problem is still there, possibly a user account problem. Unfortunately, I can't do a current Time Machine backup because the machine won't stay running long enough to make the backup.

Further, a disk first aid shows "error: inode_val: object (oid 0x3): invalid nchildren (-2)" that doesn't seem to be able to be corrected.
