Just bought it yesterday and it restarted randomly twice today while it was idle.
The phone support was useless.
It's the new 2018 version 15 inch, CPU 2.6, 512GB SSD.
Did it happen to anyone else with this newly introduce MacBook pro?

There are many, many, many different things that can cause your Mac to restart, seemingly at random. This thread has centered itself around BridgeOS kernel panics, but some posters are not having that problem.
If that is not your issue, you are welcome to start your own thread, where you can get individual help from Readers here. Readers can not keep track of what problems may be afflicting what Posters when there i.e. a huge "me, too" thread like this one, so poster's complaints may go unanswered.
Apple Support Communities is a User-to-User support forum. If other users can not help you think of a fix, No further help is likely to be forthcoming using this medium. There are no standard mechanisms for escalating problems to Apple Support from here, and Apple does NOT monitor these forums looking for trends and outstanding issues.
DO NOT "wait for Apple to provide a fix". Unless and until a large number of users present their issues through standard problem-reporting channels, Apple does not know there is a problem, and is NOT working on a fix. Being selfish is the best policy, getting yours fixed helps everyone.
If advice supplied here does not provide resolution, You must take additional steps to resolve your issues. Contact Apple support directly through one of these methods:
• contact telephone support (free for 90 days with a new Mac, of for three years with AppleCare purchase)
• make an appointment at the genius bar at an Apple-owned store for hardware evaluation and advice (free anytime, but after five years parts may no longer be available).
• initiate an Online chat
• Visit an Apple Authorized Service Provider
Having the same issue. MacBook Pro, 15 inch i9 CPU, 1TB SSD. Had it 6 months, no new software installed, it's been a week it shuts down all the time. Working with support to figure it out. Went to Apple store, they simply reinitialized the machine. Came home, same problem... Waiting for a resolution

I sold my MBP PRO 15 2013 in hope of getting something exciting in the new MBP PRO 2018 (2.6 GGZ, 512 GB, 16 GB) and I get this error 5 times in the last hour.

I am experiencing the exact same issue.
New MacBook Pro 2018, 13", 2,7 GHz i7.
Usually happens after leaving it for a while and it goes into sleep and then waking it up back again, then it randomly restarts. Very frustrating as much work was lost, for that pricepoint absolutely inacceptable.
Already tried to repair it, they switched the motherboard, but the issue is still there.
Any updates on this?

I think Apple does not give a d*** s*** about their customers.
Giving you an appointment in the genius bar in two weeks and having your MacBook for an infinite period of time giving you no replacement machine DOESN'T HELP at all!
This situation is f***** insane!
I bought a 2500€ macbook pro 2018 16go ram and it did the same thing : freeze and restart all day for no reason!
They changed my computer and the new one does the same thing!!
I went to Apple store and they changed the top case and reinstall.
But it didn't solved any issue my computer keeps on crashing and restarting randomly specially after sleeping.
I buy apple computer to avoid that and the customer service is the worst.
Now I have to go back to Apple store! I have no idea what they are going to do.

The next line of defense is typically to run an etrecheck report, and if you do not see obvious problems, use the "Share" button, then paste the report into reply on the forums. No personally-identifiable information is included in the report.
Having a dozen pairs of eyes look at it often turns up different items, that one Reader does not see.
The same happened with 2 laptops I have purchased for my company. Both of them randomly keep crashing. We use slack too.
Report are stored here:
/Library/Logs/DiagnosticReports
You can paste that into
Finder > Go Menu > Go to Folder...
... and get directly there.
if you have any with date&time and ending in .panic, we would like to see the entire report.
Please do not post more than 20 lines of an Application panic or hang -- its information is only useful to the developer while actively debugging.
Thanks for the response. In that folder, I don't see anything ends with ".panic".
I have 31 files, most end with '.diag', one with '.core_analytics' and one with '.dpsub'. All of them have date and time in the filename.
So, I guess there is nothing to paste here.
Also, I should have mentioned that after the last restart, I noticed that my .bashrc file was restored to how it was saved yesterday. In other words, the changes I have made to this file are gone.

Thanks for posting your EtreCheck report and the other information. Very interesting!
Can you confirm that when you ran your EtreCheck report it was 3 hours after you experienced a random restart? Or did you restart the machine manually?
I am curious about that -11 Unknown shutdown code. It would be great to make that more of a "known" shutdown code.
It looks like that panic report was actually a panic from your T2 "Secure Enclave" chip running iOS. It happened about 2 hours after restarting. Apparently the system was able to recover. I don't know if it was an earlier problem with the T2 that cause the shutdown.
As for EtreCheck, those "unsigned files" aren't adware. They are homebrew. Did homebrew create those files or did you? Because I'm about to say bad things about them. If you created them, please don't take it personally. 🙂 EtreCheck is interpreting those files as e-mail addresses and redacting them. Launchd files should have descriptive names and labels. I have added many whitelist entries for all the files that homebrew creates. If this is their new naming scheme, then I'm officially defeated. I can't whitelist those. I suppose I could whitelist any file that starts with "homebrew". (Note to all the malware authors of the world: please use the prefix "homebrew" for new exploits.) Perhaps I'll remove all homebrew entries from the whitelist and flag any use of homebrew as a minor adware issue. Obviously homebrew is safe and not malware, but there is no way to prove that without valid digital signatures.

As far as I remember, 3 hours prior to running EtreCheck, I was working with the support guy from Apple on the phone. We did several shut-down and restarts. Some of them he asked me to hold the Shift key immediately after turning it on and one of the times he asked me to click on the power button for 8 seconds, wait 5 seconds and then click again to power on.
The random restart happened before that and I'm not sure the exact time. I was out the entire day and found my MacBook restarted in the evening.
As far as I read, the T2 is newly introduced to this 2018 MacBook pro and wasn't available on the previous model. I hope it doesn't have an inherited issue.
As to the Homebrew. I didn't do any manual changes. The unsinged you see there are: mysql@5.7 and php@5.6. Both are not the latest version, and that's why they have "@version" sign.
They did come up with a new way how to add it to the startup items by running 'brew services start .....'.
As far as I remember, before, they used to ask the user to do 'ln -svf' for the plist file.

I'm sorry, but I don't have any insight into your random restart issue. It would be helpful if you could post another EtreCheck report after you had experienced one of these restarts. Then, the shutdown code would accurate reflect whatever happened during the shutdown.
Do you have the system setup for automatic install of software updates? That could trigger a restart.
