new Macbook pro 2018 random restarts

Same thing happened to me today. I was watching a movie in VLC when everything froze and then the MacBook Pro 13 (2018) turned off. I had to press Touch ID (power button) for 10 secs and then again to boot it.

A panic-full.... ips was created (Bridge OS 2.4.1.)

You are not entirely on the right track. Tip macOS system level panics are logged as follows:

panic-full-yyyy-mm-dd-hhmmss.xxx.ips

under

/Library/Logs/DiagnosticReports/ProxiedDevice-Bridge/Retired

or one level up, if they are still staged in for uploading the reports to apple

This is tested to be true from MBP 15 2018

Same exact computer and same exact issue. Actually, I just bought this computer because my well-loved 2011 MBP 17” suddenly started doing this and I just assumed it was a video card issue and the cost would be too high to fix so I got this new one only to have the same thing occur!

It random restart with no reason.

The last time I was on Youtube. About 30 min ago it randomly shutdown, not crash report was shown after that :(

My macbook has about 10 days :(

The first time that happened I took it to the technical assistance in CompuB in Cork but no issues were found.

I cannot live with this issue as I have lost a chunk of work because of that.

Do we have a Macbook engineer looking into it?

I am taking it back to the apple assistance for the third time with the same problem and see what they going to do about it.

I have the same issue.

I’ve noticed this trouble appears each time I try enter system preferences menu. Moreover Touch ID icon in this menu appears a few seconds lately after opening the window. And then system goes fault.

This issue appeared on clean macOS Mojave. I did downgrade to High Sierra. No result(((

In High Sierra there is no Logs.

I have the same problem. Just bought the Mac last month. First auto restart by itself just this morning.

I have the exact same problem and also have an IPS file that ends in Panic. How can I get you the file to review?

Yes. Take all of the complexity of the macOS operating system, and add a new chip running a new, embedded operating system called BridgeOS.

Do you recommend to change the macbook or wait for Mojave and hope they fix it since it is a software problem? Otherwise I heard that only a few people have these issues. So I'm not sure what to do

This happens to me all the time. And it usually happens during a videoconferencing session: Hangout or Skype. I'm not sure whether my issue is the same as yours though

I have the same problem even with macOS Mojave installed. Seems the problem isn't fixed...
