MacBook Pro (13-inch, 2017) Keeps Freezing

My MacBook has been 100% solid since I bought it. Use it for work so mainly MS office software.

Since the last update to OS it occasionally becomes unresponsive. Mouse moves but nothing else. Does not respond to mouse inputs.

Resetting seems to fix it. Has happened 2 or 3 times in the past week.

Anyone else recently having hanging problems? Thanks in advance.

I don't see nothing that jumps out as causing the system freezes you're experiencing. You are using some swap as shown in your RAM usage. You could restart more often to clear RAM. That might help, using hard drive space as virtual RAM will slow your operations.

It's difficult to troubleshoot occasional issues. If it continues you could try removing your User Login Items in System Preferences > Users & Groups > Login Items by using the ➖ button to remove them. (You can always add them back with the ➕ button)

OneDrive cloud storage (and similar so-called cloud storage solutions) is fine for sharing photos and a few documents, but it is NOT an adequate substitute for a "real" local disk-based backup solution.

• The amount of time required to do a restore at ordinary Internet speeds could easily exceed three days.

• you are depending on someone else to properly maintain and back up your essential data, and there is no way to know whether they are being adequately prudent about that (they could easily lose your files).

• the company you are trusting with your backups could change their policy and severely restrict your access, discontinue the service, or leave the business.

• the constant checking of files for what needs to be backed up, and "phoning home" over the Internet to check the dates of those files, punishes the performance of your Mac.
