MacBook Pro (2018) Audio on videos cuts out randomly

i am having the same problem with a new MacBook Pro 13 2018

Especially on YouTube

It looks like this might even be bigger than what I had initially thought!!

I've also been having this problem, for about a year now.

I'm on an iMac 2017, 32GB, 3.5 GHZ i5.

Mojave 10.14.2

It really is annoying - there are various workarounds, but why should we be having to do this?

Sometimes the only solution is, for example if pressing stop on a youtube video also stops everything else (such as iTunes) - to turn down the sound (but not press stop) on that video. Or equally just turn the sound down on iTunes so other apps can run sound.

I'm running High Sierra Media Key Enabler which does help to some extent, but it's still as buggy as....deeply annoying, particularly because I edit sound and video in various packages, and often lose track of what exactly I have to turn down or

off to get the sound running properly - I can't believe Apple have taken so long to look into this, considering the time span of the issue, which seems to be relatively widespread. Help!!

Edit: After upgrading to Mojave developer beta 4. I've downgraded back to High Sierra by erasing the hard drive and installing a fresh copy of High Sierra. Still, same problem persists.

from what I could gather, opening an incognito window has always worked for me, which makes me think it has to be a software problem. or maybe I just got lucky with it so far

no other issues so far for me

over the course of the day I had the problem 5 more times, each time opening the link in a private browser window worked

Yeah, most of the thread is different problem but some of the commenters had the same issue we have.

I can confirm turning off "Hey Siri" helped. I replaced my Macbook Pro with a new one at the apple store, and I think that also fixed the speaker popping issue as well.

I also have this problem in both Safari and Chrome. The console reports an audio hardware problem.

Does this happens only through speakers/headphones or anyone has tested if it happens through usb dacs or audio interfaces?
