My MacBook Pro 2018 version speakers are crackling.

Same here, the sound is terrible! But guess its not the hardware issue though.

It might be a hardware issue overall. So not a problem with the actual speakers but how the hardware functions as a whole.

It seems like switching speakers sample rate from 44.1 kHz to 48 kHz did help.

I did watch the full movie (about 1.40h length) without any crackling

Switching rate from 44,1kHz to 48 kHz helped me too!
It was crackling after 20 minutes gaming session, now its silent even after 2 hours.

the setting tool located in:

Programs > Tools > MIDI Settings

You should change output setting only there

Im not using Windows on Mac, but you can try to do the same on windows!

Please call Apple to report the problem, it's the only they are going to provide a fix for it.
