When I open my previous projects (Logic 9) on Logic X all the legacy Software Instruments are missing. Where do I find Ultrabeat and the other instruments?

I just replaced my old mac (Mavericks) with a new iMac (High Sierra) and switched from Logic 9 Express to Logic X Pro.

All software instruments you had access to in LE9 should be also available in LPX. As usual, you can select them by clicking on the instrument slot and choosing from the menu.

There are quite a few changes in the GUI and workflow, so expect to spend some time re-learning Logic. In addition, if you had LPX pre-installed on the new computer, not all sounds and instrument presets may have been installed. Open, Logic Pro X -> Sound Library -> Open Sound Library Manager. Ideally, it should have all the libraries installed:

In your case, it's Legacy and Compatibility libraries that are of interest, because you probably used some sounds or instrument presets shipped with LE9. I'd recommend to install all the sounds. Takes about a few hours, but totally worth it. Also, install them one by one to avoid issues with free disk space. Cheers!
