I got a text from iMessage about my id is this a scam?

i got a text from iMessage saying my id associated with this number has been locked for security reasons and then a link to click is this a scam?

And does that address you by your name? If it offers a link to change your password do not follow it. If you feel you want to change your password go direct to http://appleid.apple.com and do it there.

It's a scam: do not respond in any way. Apple never send out iMessages about anything, and never send out emails of this sort. If they do have to lock your ID for security reasons they won't tell you, they will wait for you to find out and contact them. Real messages from Apple will always address you by name. Without exception, all emails or messages or pop-ups telling you your ID has been locked, or has to be 'verified', or that you have a virus, are scams.
