The battery on my old MacBook Pro died, so I got its hard drive taken out and put in a Deltaco hard drive enclosure. Now, when I access the hard drive in Finder on my new MacBook Pro, I can't find the files. Some sources online say they should be under~/Library/Group Containers/group.com.apple.notes/or~/Library/Containers/group.com.apple.notes/or something like that, but I can't find such a directory in Finder. Do I have to use Terminal to find it? I have tried to open the Notes app from the hard drive, but that only opens the Notes files from my new MacBook Pro. Any help would be appreciated.

The files you seek may be located under a User library, not a System library.

And as such ~ there is a possibility that may only be found within a running

macOS & harder to locate or retrieve from a storage-status system archive.

Is the external enclosure adequately supported (power supply etc) for startup?

If the unit is correct to purpose, you should be able to run the Mac from the

hard drive that was removed from the same computer, while in external case.
