Getting Duplicate Movie downloads

Hi,

I would be grateful if some knowledgable person could help me.

PROBLEM

After purchasing and downloading an iTunes movie or music track, a duplicate appears - which I think is the iCloud version)

This duplicate appears usually the next time I purchase something.

I have rung the Apple help line about this before, but it hasn't resolved my problem, and I'd like to understand where / what the issue is please.

MORE INFORMATION

Here is a typical iTunes display taken today.
Today I am downloading the movie 'Battle Royale'.
This has caused the issue to appear in a previously downloaded movie called 'Black Sea'..

... and above you can see the movie 'Black Sea' that I downloaded fine a couple of days ago has now a DUPLICATE 'Black Sea' entry which has appeared underneath.
This is offering me to download it from the cloud.

If I try to delete this DUPLICATE 'Black Sea' then I get a message 'Are you sure you want to hide this Film?'

I know from past experience that I can delete the original entry, and download the duplicate. But that's downloading each movie twice.
I also am suspicious that the duplicate download offering does not give me an iTunes Extras.

Sign out of the iTunes Store. Sign back in again. This will normally clear cloudy duplicates from the library.

If you type in iTunes Extras or iTunes LP in the search box at the top right respectively in those two views, and Search Entire Library is not ticked under the magnifying glass, then you should see all of your iTunes Extras or LPs on the screen at one time. Do you have both local and cloud copies or only those in the cloud? Assuming only the ones in the cloud I would download them all. If you have both a local and cloud copy, right-click on the local copy and use Remove Download. They should resolve to a single version in the cloud which you can then download.

Hi Turingtest2,

Sorry to bother you again, but the problem has reoccurred - at least I think it's the same issue - but they are not the very last purchases as per the original post.

What I have noticed with these movies and songs is that they have been listed before and re-downloaded (before removing the previous identical ones. I note they seem to be in vaguely the same period of time.. yes, sorry if thats a red herring - I guess I'm clutching at straws really...

Here are the screen dumps. I did sign out when it occurred. Then signed in again but no change.

I'd appreciate any ideas.
