steps to add music to slideshow in Photos 10.13.6

I would like detailed step-by-step instructions on adding music from iTunes library to my slideshows. The instruction I've seen in the application is extremely vague. It doesn't even tell you where the music icon is, or what to do after you finally spot it over on the right side of the window and select a piece of music. I've not been able to have the song I select actually play in the slideshow.

The music icon looks like a musical note, much like the iTunes icon. It is to the right of the preview.

When you click on the icon, the preview will shrink to the left showing the music selection pane. Click the downward pointing caret (arrow) button to reveal your music Library.

You can choose from iTunes or the built-in theme songs from the popup menu next to the Search icon (spyglass).

Click on a song and it will appear in the Selected Music section above the Music Library.

If you hover over a selected song, a play and delete button will appear.

You can drag the songs into the order you wish.

I've not been able to have the song I select actually play in the slideshow.

Make sure you delete the default song in the Selected Music list if you don't want it to be part of the show.
