Hello!
Sometime ago I had the option to choose from a lot of different sound effects; doors, car doors, footsteps, lighter etc., at the moment there isn't much left. I have installed every library so I don't understand where they have gone. The sounds that are available now aren't very useable to me.

No worries. Check if you have legacy content downloaded, along with the new packs. File > Sound Library > Open Sound Library Manager
A couple of questions. Were these sounds a part of Logic's sound library? And how would you usually access them? Please, provide as many details as you can.
Maybe the loops/ sounds you're looking for are in Cinematic.
Nope not there 😢. How many 'footsteps' and 'lighter' sounds do you guys have? Maybe we can compare.
I read somewhere else online that Apple may have removed a lot of sounds with updates for........No, I can't come up with a reason why they would do that.
I accessed them via the loopbrowser in Logic itself. And they were part of the sound library.
Be sure to quit all other programs running. Have the internet hardwired or a good high speed wifi connection. My upload took about an hour.
Thank you for helping me but this isn't the solution unfortunately. I always have it selected on All Genres. Right now I have 418 ILife sound effects, how many do you have? There used to be so much more.
I won't be sitting down to my " Logic Computer" till the weekend. I'll get back to you. But All the foley effects I had with Logic 9, I was pleased to discover I still have with Logic X. Dozens of footsteps, etc. for example.

Ok. Here's the best I got for ya bro: I open Logic X. Don't open project now. Click Logic>Sound Library>Open Sound Library Manager> Select All Uninstalled> Install. When I open a project I go to Loops> Genre> Cinematic. You mentioned Lighter. I have Lighter 1, Lighter 2, Lighter 3, Lighter 4, Lighter 5, Lighter Click FX, Lighter FX 01, Lighter FX 03. Maybe I'll update this weekend and see if I get Lighter 02 Ha. I have dozens upon dozens of various footstep foley. I do music composition, foley, sound design, audio mastering for film, so yeah, these effects are important to me too. Best of luck.
You probably switched to another loop pack in the browser. Here's how to select the effects pack again (just click to the right of "Loop Pack" and select "iLife Sound Effects". Cheers!
