Using a Headset with MBP Mid 2015?

Hey there,

I've got a Beyerdynamic MMX 300 headset and want to use it with my Macbook Pro. However, I just can't manage to make the mic work and also didn't find any useful information in the internet. It does work perfectly with my iPhone and also with the ThinkPad of a client of mine. Got any clues? Or does the MBP not support headsets?

Thanks and cheers

Thanks.

Strangely enough, the headset does work today - I can't tell why and the internal mics still are shown as the active input device in the system settings, while the actual input device is the mic of the headset. And I now do remember that it also did work some time ago when I used it with Rocksmith 2014, I'd just forgotten. Perhaps it is a hardware issue.

The computer wasn't switched off, it was just in sleep mode for some hours - and thus wasn't rebooted. So I can't see an obvious event which led to the headset working.

Generally, I think it wouldn't make sense that headsets working with other Apple devices would not work with a Macbook - so it's simply not true that it has to be the Apple iPhone headset. Any headset being compatible with an iPhone as per statement of the manufacturer (at least for the versions which did have a headphone jack) should also work with the Macbook.
