Is this normal? It just came in the mail a day ago and this is already happening. Is this a hardware problem or a software problem? I've restarted my Mac and it still happens.

I assume it's a hardware related problem. If above doesn't work, you'd better make Genius Bar appointment or take your MacBook Pro to Apple authorized service provider to check it up.
