Update iCloud Music Library keeps quitting

I recently subscribed to iTunes Match. I am going through the slow process of uploading the many songs I have that are not available in itunes to iCloud. I have been doing this for a week or so. In the last few days, every time I click on "Update iCloud Music Library" it goes through "Matching your music..." then begins to upload songs, uploads anywhere from 3-20 or so songs, then stops. Any idea why and how to fix this? It'll take me a year to upload all my songs at this rate. Thanks, Peter.

Hi,

It is possible that a corrupt track(s) are causing the match process to stall. Read this About iCloud Music Library icons and status - Apple Support. Identify by use of smart playlist the tracks with “waiting” status. Are any of the tracks over 200mb or in a format other than mp3 or m4a. Maybe you should consider removing those tracks and update iCloud music library. One updated you can then readd those tracks, possibly in small batches.

Hi Jim,

I have made an effort to remove problem tracks to a second itunes library. I'm still having the issue, and at last check I have over 1500 tracks that have the cloud with the ! in it. I'm thinking this is too big a mountain to climb and I should abort this effort and go another way. Some of the tracks could be at issue because I use itunes for my own material to work on and catalog and there's a wide range of size and format. There is also a large number of what would seem to me to be regular music tracks that also have this symbol next to them, and so many I'm stumped as to why, and don't have hours and hours to try and sort this out. I'm very disappointed as I was hoping to use this service to set up a central library my wife, daughter and I could all use, but it's been so difficult and time consuming I'm thinking it's not going to work.

Thanks,

Peter.
