Iphone 5s and Stereo Homepods issue

Hi,

I have a pair of functioning stereo Homepods that I control via an iPhone 8, but I also have an iPhone 5s with iOS 11.4.1 that I can't get to play in stereo mode; only one Homepod plays.

Is this a known issue or is there something I can do to debug the issue ?

Homepod mini cannot be configured as stereoset I just bought 2 homepods mini that I want to configure as stereoset for listening music. I use my iPhone 12 or iPad-Pro to configure them as explained in the manual. But the final configuration does never finish well (the spinning wheel keeps spining). Then sometimes the pods play both different music, but I haven’t any clue how it was selected. One time it was somehow the same song but out of sync instead of proper stereo. After the first connection it seemed that they needed a software update so I presume they have the latest software available like my iPhone and iPad-Pro (automatic updates always on). In the home-app I see the stereo homepod icon but when I click it only one Pod is turned on and starts playing no matter what, the other I must tap by hand to activate. Can anyone guess what I might be doin wrong?

HomePod issue with iOS15 Since iOS15 update, I can’t play music on 2 HomePods together as it was working perfectly before. Like when I ask Siri to play music in all my apartment. Both turn on, but one (and it can be one or the other) play music and the other stay muted. Same if play music on my iPhone and try to send it to both HomePods. Never had this issue before iOS15.

Homepod Stereo Issue Hello all, prior to today I had no issue with stereo pairing with two Homepods. This afternoon they both starting acting on their own. I have removed and reset each unit individually. I have restarted my home app. I can get stereo sound to play when I stream apple music from my iPhone. When I try to get the units to play without air streaming they play separate music and respond as if they aren't connected. Units are updated to 11.4 Driving me insane, any thoughts?

Try setting the stereo pair again on your iPhone 5s.

Thanks, that worked.

So the stereo pairing of the Homepods will work in play mode only for the "pairing device", at least in my case.

I think that's the case for everyone, that's the way it works. I think it's a bit of a shame. You can give feedback to Apple about this here: Feedback - HomePod - Apple
