Bounce > Track in Place function does not work properly with software instruments configured for multiple outputs
Hi there folks, so another user and I came across this issue (potentially a bug) where a software instrument configured for multiple outputs does not get all audio produced on these channels bounced as separate tracks. Instead, Logic would only bounce the first stereo-pair.
As an example, let's say a multi-output Spectrasonics Stylus RMX plugin has been loaded. It's in Kit mode, with each instrument in the kit going to its own output. In this example I used just five drum sounds for a drum part, so there have to be five outputs.
The plugin itself is on a software instrument track (outputs 1-2) and the other four drum instruments are going to four Aux channels (outputs 3-4, 5-6, 7-8, and 9-10). These are joined in a summing stack.
Now, I've created a drum part (MIDI region) where all of these five drum sounds are used and are going to separate Mixer channels. So far so good, and I'd like to bounce these as separate audio tracks using File > Bounce > Track in Place. So I select the software instrument track with Stylus plugin and the MIDI region, and go to File > Bounce menu:
Logic opens a dialogue box where it offers to include multiple outputs and bounce them as separate audio tracks:
However, Logic would only bounce the first output channel, while ignoring the others. In this case, it only bounced the Kick drum track.
Question is: is there anything I've missed in the multiple-output setup or when bouncing the track? The exact same procedure but with Drummer multi-output preset yields an expected result (i.e. a number of separate audio tracks for each drum instrument). Why doesn't it work for Stylus?
